"God Save This Queen", a cheeky play on the UK's national anthem, touches on issues of toxic masculinity, outdated gender roles, and judgmental eyes. Bimini throws a middle finger up to it all. Instead, they embrace new found freedom, destroy boundaries, and share a preference for "D" over processed meat.
"And I said darling, ain't you sick of showing off and acting tough?, playing out the role that you've been handed from above, you'd be more secure if you could share a little love", they chant on the opening verse.
After delivering THE standout verse on chart hit "UK, Hun?" alongside the aforementioned Chaney, Tayce, and A'Whora, it's not surprising to hear Bimini excel on their first solo music project, produced by Redshank.
The spoken-word vocal delivery paired with punk-pop inspiration throughout carry the "therapeutic" effort to energetic and fearless heights. "God Save This Queen" is as bold and defying as Bimini herself. While most Drag Race alumni efforts sound strained, there's nothing but authenticity seeping from the edgy number.
