Azealia Banks is boycotting Dolce and Gabanna after their racist collection

When a high street store issues a 'sort of racist' remark or product - the blogsphere is very quick to reduce them to tears or make them recall the product.
When a designer does it - its different. A few weeks ago I featured those horrible earrings from Dolce and Gabanna which formed part of their SS13 collection. I will try and repost the earrings if I can find them just to give you some idea of what everyone was complaining about.  The response was different though - there were no boycotts, no product recall, no outrage - no nothing! In fact people just wrote about the press release and that was it.

Great message to send out.

Strangely enough, the one person who has spoken out about it is not someone from within the industry but someone from another - Azealia Banks. Banks has said that she will not shop or promote D&G because of the collection.

Good.
I'm sorry but someone needed to get outraged here.

She is also quite right about racism being passed off as art. This wasn't art it was just not needed. I cant believe that people were so 'whatever' about this collection as well - people! it's not on!!!
