In the midst of the hellstorm that was the pretentious 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, Jessie J dropped the colorful music video for her recent hit "Bang Bang" with the help of Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj. The three talented ladies joined forces to bring some fun and sass to the final days of the summer season. Shutting down the city in the process, Jessie, Ari and Nicki serve up a stunning new visual.
"Bang Bang" is the first official single off Jessie J's upcoming third album, Sweet Talker, as well as a featured track on Grande's recently released sophomore effort. The pop/R&B track was met with universal acclaim from music critics and became Jessie J's highest charting single in the U.S., matching the success she saw previously with "Domino".
After teasing the music video just days before, the official version premiered exclusively on MTV last night following the first live performance of the song at the VMAs. While looking absolutely stunning throughout, the girls command solo scenes of strutting down the street, throwing a risque slumber party and arriving on a helipad before finally sharing screen time together during the last minute of the energetic and seductive video.
Just like the track, the new visual is a welcomed event. Three powerful women combining impressive vocal abilities, rap skills and beauty to produce a fun, vibrant and explosive must-watch. Grande and Minaj definitely command attention when their moments to shine come up, but focus is never off Jessie J for long. The artist may have hit troubles with her last album release, but the singer is rising from the ashes and looking damn good doing so.
