Kenya records highest number of Covid-19 cases as MOH confirms 960 new infections.

Coronavirus cases in Kenya rose to 7,743 with 960 new infections, a health authority announced late Sunday, July 26.

Two more patients succumb to Covid-19, death toll rises to 280; 169 discharged after full recovery.

The Ministry of Health (MoH) also announced that the new patients were identified following examination of 8,261 samples.

A breakdown of cases by counties showed that Nairobi recorded the highest with 510 new infections followed by Kajiado (102), Kiambu (100), Machakos (58), Mombasa (48), Busia (21), Garissa (17), Uasin Gishu (15), Kisumu (14), Nakuru (12) and Narok (10).

Turkana accounted for nine cases, Bomet (eight), Kericho (seven), Laikipia (five), Murang’a (five), Makueni (five), Embu (three), Nyeri (two), Taita Taveta (two), Kakamega (two), Bungoma (two), while Tana River, Trans Nzoia and Kisii had a single case each.
